Individual Therapy Services

Sessions begin with weekly telehealth meetings to establish consistency, safety, and therapeutic momentum. As progress is made and goals are clarified, sessions may transition to bi-weekly or monthly maintenance appointments based on clinical need and client preference.

This practice specializes in working with adult women navigating eating disorders, disordered and emotional eating, binge eating, purging, restrictive patterns, body image distress, and body dysmorphia. Particular care is taken to support women living in higher-weight bodies who have experienced weight stigma within medical, relational, or cultural systems.

In addition to eating disorder treatment, the practice has extensive experience addressing co-occurring concerns such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma histories, perfectionism, burnout, and chronic health conditions. Many clients arrive feeling overwhelmed not only by their relationship with food or their body, but also by nervous system dysregulation, chronic stress, medical complexities, or longstanding mood symptoms. Treatment is integrative and recognizes that these challenges rarely exist in isolation.

Health at Every Size (HAES) Aligned Care

This is a Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned practice. HAES is an evidence-informed, weight-inclusive approach to health that rejects the assumption that body size alone determines health status or worth. Rather than centering weight loss as a primary outcome, HAES emphasizes:

  • Respect for body diversity

  • Critical awareness of weight stigma and diet culture

  • Access to compassionate medical care at all sizes

  • Sustainable health behaviors that support physical and emotional well-being

  • Attunement to hunger, fullness, and body cues

In practice, this means therapy does not promote dieting, intentional weight loss, or body shame as treatment strategies. Instead, the focus is on restoring trust with the body, reducing disordered eating behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and building sustainable self-care and compassion practices that honor each client’s lived experience.

Benefits of Individual Therapy

Personalized Care
Sessions are tailored to each client’s unique history, goals, and identities. Treatment plans are collaboratively developed and grounded in evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, humanistic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and somatic integration.

Confidential and Supportive Environment
Individual sessions provide a private space for honest exploration and meaningful growth. Confidentiality is foundational to the therapeutic relationship. (Clients utilizing insurance benefits are encouraged to review the FAQs page for additional information regarding insurance and confidentiality considerations.)

Focused Depth
The one-on-one format allows for deeper processing of patterns, relational dynamics, body image narratives, and emotional responses. This depth can be particularly helpful when addressing long-standing anxiety, depression, chronic illness adjustment, or trauma-related concerns.

Flexibility and Accessibility
Telehealth services offer convenience while maintaining clinical rigor, making consistent engagement more sustainable for clients balancing work, caregiving, medical appointments, or fluctuating energy levels.

Client-Guided Pace
Therapy moves at a pace that is both supportive and appropriately challenging. Clients are encouraged to actively shape the direction of treatment, fostering autonomy, self-trust, and long-term resilience.
